Dakar To Port Loko: Perspectives From West Africa is independently produced, filmed, and edited by Nathaniel Cogley. After finishing his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University in 2001, Nathaniel spent the next two years living and traveling in West and Central Africa. His travels (and this film) were personally funded with savings from his job as a nighttime taxi driver in San Francisco. Only 25 years of age during filming, the youthful, independent, and unbiased nature of Dakar To Port Loko: Perspectives From West Africa results in a documentary that is both thought-provoking and inspirational, especially to students. Nathaniel is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at Yale University.
